Folk Rhythm and Soul

My mother, d’Rachael is a flutist/harpist of Soundings of the Planet music label, I spent a lot of time alongside my mother playing violin, until the age of 19.  However, I found out that I loved singing, playing guitar and writing songs, so I quit playing violin and focused more on songwriting.  Currently the music I write and sing is influenced by the sounds of latin-jazz and soul.

I’m also the daughter of yoga teacher Tom Beall and in 2001 became a certified yoga teacher and since then I’ve spent the last 8 years teaching yoga and facilitating retreats in Arizona, Mexico and Texas.

My husband Jeremy Bell accompanies me on saxophone.  Together we create a sound that is sensual and relaxing.  Read below for his description of what inspires him.  His own words."Though I dont know how to articulate it to those around me verbally, my hope is that the passion, warmth, and joy I feel enveloping my heart are communicated through my saxophone.  Primarily an alto player, my aim is to lyrically harmonize with the intent of the melody.  I started playing in the school band program and made it through two years at Western Illinois University.  This taught me technique, but what I really enjoyed were the extra curricular bands that encouraged the exploration of the music.  Moving in and out of Jazz and Rock through the years, I met up with Sapphire in 1997 and weve been exploring music together since.  People who continue to inspire me include: Sonny Rollins, Stan Getz, Wayne Shorter, Art Blakey, Winton Marsalis, Weird Al Yankovich, They Might Be Giants, The Velvet Underground, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Sade, Jadon Lavik.  To list a few."
